Technical data

Application details
ELASTOSIL® N291 can be used for screen printing on diverse substrates. It works both on sulphur containing or sulphur
free fibre gaskets.
Some filler may settle during transport and storage. To ensure a uniform mix, the components should be thoroughly stirred
prior to use. ELASTOSIL® N291 is a moisture curing silicone sealant. For this reason the curing rate strongly depends on
both temperature and atmospheric humidity in the surrounding. ELASTOSIL® N291 can be applied with standard silk
screen printing equipment.

It cures under the influence of moisture from the air. Colors may be obtained by addition of 3 – 5 % Pigment Paste FL if
desired. After addition the material has to be mixed carefully.

Packaging and storage
Storage
The ‘Best use before end’ date of each batch is shown on the product label.
Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case
however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.
Safety notes
ELASTOSIL® N291 releases during cure a total of 4 % butanone oxime. These vapours should not be inhaled for long
periods or in high concentration. Work areas should therefore be well ventilated.
Comprehensive instructions are given in the corresponding Material Safety Data Sheets. They are available on request from
WACKER subsidiaries or may be printed via WACKER web site http://www.wacker.com.
